APASQ ANNOUNCES THE ONLINE OPENING OF ENOAC
The ENOAC is a collaborative project by the Association des professionnels des arts de la scène du Québec (APASQ), the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec (CMAQ), Illustration Québec (IQ) and the Regroupement des artistes en arts visuels du Québec (rAAV) who joined forces for three years to create a digital library bringing together contemporary works from the Quebec Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Illustration and Arts and Crafts industries.
The purpose of ENOAC is twofold: to offer the academic community and the Quebec public priviledged access to the creative process behind contemporary artistic works, and to provide Quebec artists a self-promotional platform cataloging and preserving their works.
The first two phases of the project culminated with the official opening of ENOAC's website that allows users to discover the available works and perform basic research.
As time goes on, ENOAC will continue to be enriched and updated through the participation of a larger number of artists. Ultimately, the ENOAC will allow subscribers to consult the full profile of each of the artists and artisans, explore their works and perform extensive research.
While it is is a self-promotional tool for artists and craftsmen, the ENOAC relies heavily on their participation. The artists must simultaneously be the creators, suppliers, archivists and publishers of the documentation on their work made available to the public. In return, this online publishing of artistic content will ultimately generate copyrighting royalties for participating artists.
ENOAC's partners thank the Conseil des arts et lettres du Quebec for its support during the first two phases of the project. The project fulfils the principles of the Plan culturel numérique du Québec.
