Job Description / Duties
JOB SUMMARY
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the management, planning, communication, and overall execution of warehouse activities. Leading the warehouse team, the Warehouse Manager will ensure all operational and functional needs of the warehouse by the organization are met on a daily basis while planning for upcoming needs. The Warehouse Manager will work closely with the Equipment Manager and Logistics Manager to ensure all event needs are met and efficiently managed.
Job Duties
• Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to help ensure full warehouse optimization
• Ensure health and safety policies are being followed by all members of the organization in order to maintain a safe working environment
• Ensure that safe work practices are being followed for their direct team
• Supervise, schedule and manage a team of warehouse employees, including casual labour, in the preparation and return of audio-visual and event equipment and overall building management
• Supervise and manage the processes for tagging, marking or labeling inventory as required and ensure that the warehouse is properly organized, clean and equipment is in appropriate storage locations
• Participate in all functions of employee management for warehouse staff including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination
• Learn and maintain a sound knowledge of the customized rental software (IntelliEvent Lightning)
• Analyze warehouse operations and identify areas requiring improvement
• Schedule work assignments, priorities and delegate work accordingly to the warehouse team ensuring sufficient coverage to meet operational need
• Ensure that timesheets are complete on a bi-weekly basis for the warehouse team
• Help to maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and hazardous materials in conjunction with other Operations team members
• Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, trucks and lifting devices
• Operate lifting devices such as forklifts and hoists
• Resolve any discrepancies in inventory in conjunction with the Equipment Manager
• Assist in cargo handling, loading of vehicles and trucks, and secure loads in accordance with established safety requirements
• Assist with inspecting "cross-rented" inventory items from vendors and verify quantity and condition for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off; reject damaged or incomplete inventory
• Assist with general warehouse/building organization and upkeep including executing/ assigning facility housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks
• Set a positive example amongst colleagues and liaise with clients and peers in a polite and professional manner
Qualifications / Required Skills
Job Requirements
• Three years of experience with managing and leading a team and five years of experience in warehouse setting
• Defined experience in conflict resolution and people management
• Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret goals, objectives and policies
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team to achieve and exceed their goals
• Strong formal and informal leadership skills
• Ability to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance
• Ability to deal with a constantly changing environment and industry with patience and understanding
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Working Conditions
• Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Occasional overtime
• Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
• Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
• Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 23 kilograms (51 lbs)

Other duties as necessary may be required and are expected from the position within reason.

Salary: $60,000-$68,000
