Employer Profile

The Darke Hall Society is a non-profit organization that oversees the management of Darke Hall, a historic performance venue in Regina, Saskatchewan.

About Darke Hall
Darke Hall is situated on Treaty 4 lands, the territories of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation. The nêhiyawak originally referred to Regina as oskana kā-asastēki, meaning, “the place where bones are piled up.”
Opened in 1929, Darke Hall has long served as one of the premier performance venues in Regina. Benefactor F. N. Darke’s vision “to build a temple to the arts, and a centre for cultural activity” came to life as groups flocked to the space, prized for its acoustically-sound and visually stunning interior. Almost 100 years later, thanks to the generous donations and support of our community, Darke Hall has been restored to its former historical glory while ensuring that its modernization meets the needs of the 21st century. With the restoration and modernization of Darke Hall drawing to a close late 2021, we are excited to re-open the venue to the community and celebrate its place as a hub for the arts once again.

We stand up against behaviour which creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment and encourage staff and artists to partner with us in speaking up and standing together in addressing problems when they arise.
