Job Description / Duties
Reporting to the Technical Directors and as part of the Technical Management Team, the successful candidate will assist in implementing technical aspects for off-stage events and related activity at the Tom Patterson Theatre, Festival Theatre or other Stratford Festival venues.
Responsibilities:
•Provide assistance to the Technical Directors & Associate Technical Directors - in their areas of responsibility
•Ensure the smooth operation of events as assigned
•Assist with the processing of timesheets and other paperwork
•Assist with the creation and distribution of the technical schedules
•Produce CAD drawings for projects, as directed. Update CAD drawings as needed
•Liaise with all production and non-production departments keeping them current with event information and any changes that occur
•Plan & coordinate the details of Union work calls
•Assist with information flow during the set-up, rehearsal, tech notes, operation and load-out of events. This work may take place on evenings and weekends.
•Oversee the installation, maintenance and inventory of technical equipment and facilities
•Work collaboratively in a positive and proactive manner with all
•Take minutes during production meetings and similar events
Qualifications / Required Skills
Qualifications:
•University Degree or equivalent education and experience in a field related to theatrical production.
•Experience in a technical director role or similar, preferably in a performing arts industry
•Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
•Experience supporting events and activity off stage
•Advanced knowledge in Vectorworks or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
•Self-motivated and flexible
•Excellent team player with a collaborative and positive attitude
Additional Information
This seasonal, full time, contract position is located in Stratford, Ontario from early January to September 2022.
Job Type: Seasonal full time contract
Hourly Rate: $25.00/hour
