Job Description / Duties
The Shaw Festival is currently accepting applications for Stitchers – Levels 2 & 3 positions in the Production Wardrobe Department. This is a seasonal contract position reporting to the men’s Tailor.
Qualifications / Required Skills
The position requires an individual with 6-10 years plus of demonstrated tailoring experience with the ability to build men’s jackets with instruction, and waistcoats/ trousers from start to finish with minimal instruction. This position is responsible for building a portion of our season’s costumes, an in-depth knowledge of costume history and construction is necessary.
The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, be organized, reliable and accurate and work well as part of a team. We encourage a positive and proactive working environment. A good sense of humour is always appreciated.
Knowledge of Health and Safety compliance is essential.
This is a seasonal position between September and November for our fall season and January through July for our main season. The incumbent will have the option and opportunity for off season work in our workshops.

Start Date: (anticipated) March 2024
Please note: All new hires must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses) plus booster and/or a recent vaccination (within 6 months) , prior to their start date.
Salary: Hourly Rates: Stitcher Level 3 - $29.56 / Stitcher Level 2 - $28.51
