Job Description / Duties
4th Line Theatre, an outdoor theatre company located in Millbrook, Ont., is currently looking for a Props Builder/Scenic Painter for the 2024 summer season.
Start date: May 27, 2024
End date: August 1, 2024 (10 weeks)
Remuneration:
$630/week - averaging agreement with guaranteed minimum wage of $18/hour
Duties & Responsibilities of this position will include:
• Creating and adapting props as needed.
• Scenic painting duties as needed.
• Sourcing and purchasing materials.
• Working closely with the Creative and Production teams.
• Assist with the build of the productions as required
• Attend production, planning and other meetings and notes sessions as required, respond to show reports
Qualifications / Required Skills
• The successful candidate will have construction and carpentry skills and is able to work well under pressure
• They will be creative, curious and passionate about theatre and have the ability to work in a team environment
• They will have experience and/or post-secondary training in theatre
• They will have demonstrated ability to design and/or build props for the theatre
• Experience in any of the following is an asset: scenic painting, costume and/or set design/build
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for the length of the contract is required (due to the rural location)
• Must enjoy working outdoors
• Ideal for a returning student
Additional Information
4th Line Theatre can arrange temporary housing options for the length of the contract for out-of-town applicants.
Salary: $630/week - averaging agreement with guaranteed minimum wage of $18/hour
