Job Description / Duties
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Production Assistant will work closely with the Technical Director to:
• Build, load in, install and paint the sets for all shows in the summer season.
• Provide technical support for stage management during the run of each show.
• Work as running crew or help with technical supervision during performances.
• Assume additional technical duties assigned by the Technical Director or Artistic Director
Qualifications / Required Skills
• Ideally will be a graduate of a Technical Theatre Production Program.
• Strong carpentry skills and knowledge of other areas of theatre production including paint, props and running crew duties.
• Experience and comfortable working with power tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks in a timely and professional manner.
• Strong communication and effective problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and comfortable climbing a 6-foot A-frame ladder.
Additional Information
Upper Canada Playhouse will arrange housing at a rate of $125 per week paid by the Production Assistant.
Recommended to have your own hand tools and steel toe boots or shoes.
Salary: $825 per week plus 4% vacation pay based on a 40 hour week.
