Job Description / Duties

Every year SummerWorks works closely with a team of local producers to work with artists’ in the creation of their works and their presentation or showcase in the Festival. Each Producer will be managing a selection of projects. Producers at SummerWorks are responsible for the successful and safe planning and delivery of projects and events as part of SummerWorks’ summer season. Producers will have particular responsibility for research and development projects, and professional development activities.

Reports to: Managing Producer.

The Producer’s duties include:
- Coordinating projects in collaboration with the SummerWorks’ artistic, production, producing and patron services teams.
- Work with artists to realize their vision for their research and development or residency period.
- Be the main liaison between artists and the SummerWorks team.
- Attend venue walk-throughs and technical rehearsals.
- Create and distribute schedules for artists, team members, and partners.
- Work with a technical team to ensure the smooth running of any sharing online or in person.
- Review and summarize content of artist questionnaires as necessary.
- Assist the SummerWorks team in copy checking all programme and marketing materials for assigned projects and events.
- Contribute copy for related social media posts and the SummerWorks newsletter.
- Assist in creation of sponsorship packs and development of sponsorship relationships specific to assigned projects and events.
- Attend weekly team meetings, and daily meetings during the summer season.
- Oversee assigned projects during programming, acting as the main point of contact on-site for assigned projects, resolving issues as necessary.
- Attend all production, producing and artist meetings, taking and distributing meeting minutes as required.
- Attend rehearsals and provide feedback, as required.

Qualifications / Required Skills

You are someone who has:
- 3+ years relevant experience.
- a passion for the performing arts.
- demonstrable organizational and project management skills.
- experience developing new work outdoors and in online spaces.
- excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- experience delegating and leading a team.
- a keen eye for detail and is motivated and meticulous.
- excellent computer skills.
- knowledge of best practices and regulations related to accessibility (i.e. AODA).
- an interest in supporting professional development, including pitching and industry connections.
- experience of managing project budgets $20,000+.

Salary: $23 an hour (approx $9k for contract, depending on start date)
