Job Description / Duties
The following opportunity is for an 8-week placement supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program that supports employers in creating jobs for young Canadians across the country. As a not-for-profit charitable arts organization, we rely heavily on the generosity of our community to assist us with offsetting operating costs. We receive support from individual donors, External Foundations, individual Giving, Special Events and more. There is also opportunity to work on project with other departments at the Arts Club as corporate sponsors, foundations and all levels of government. The Development Department manages these relationships very closely.
The Development Department is seeking a results oriented and energetic individual to take on the position of Fund Development Assistant. Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, the Fund Development Assistant will work in areas of the department such as Corporate Sponsorship, External Foundations, Individual Giving, Special Events, and more. There is also the opportunity to work on projects with other departments at the Arts Club such as Education and Artistic. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
âą Assisting with set-up and execution of the Artistic Directorâs Circle reception on opening nights, corporate pre-show receptions, signature fundraising events, Ensemble and donor appreciation events
âą Assisting with silent auction solicitation and collection
âą Assisting with CONTRA or In Kind donation solicitation
âą Helping with donor loyalty and stewardship initiatives
âą Prospective donor research
âą Data entry and record maintenance using Tessitura
âą Raffle ticket processing using Tessitura
âą Execution of annual mail-outs
âą Manage invoicing for corporate client hosting
âą Some in-house graphic design
âą Other administrative duties as required
Qualifications / Required Skills
âȘ Excellent writing and good organizational skills
âȘ Ability to take direction as well as work independently
âȘ Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, working knowledge of Microsoft Access as asset
âȘ Good interpersonal and communication skills
âȘ Detail oriented
âȘ A passion for the arts, specifically theatre is an asset
The Arts Club Theatre Company has a robust COVID-19 / communicable disease safety plan that continues to evolve given current provincial health orders and guidelines and as these may change during the term of this position, the incumbent may be expected to adjust how they work. Additionally, there may be a need for applicants to have access to a home computer or laptop that they are able to work from while any remote working procedures are in place.
Additional Information
Start date: June 27, 2022 (8-week term)
Salary: $18* per hour - *contingent on funding
Employment Type: Temporary Full-time (35 hour work week, 9 AM â 5:00 PM.)
