Job Description / Duties
We are looking for a dynamic and customer-focused Front of House Manager to oversee the front-of-house operations for shows and events. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a passion for the arts.
Responsibilities and Duties include:
• Oversee all operational functions of the Centre Concession & Bar
• Ensure compliance in the front of house of operational regulations as set by the BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch, Fraser Health Authority, and Chilliwack Fire Department
• Stock purchases for the Centre Concession & Bar, ensuring sufficient inventory is on hand as needed
• Ensure a high level of patron service for the Chilliwack Cultural Centre
• Work Guest Services Team shifts as needed to fill the schedule and to keep up to date on processes and operations
o Leading a team of volunteers in their ushering duties during events at The Centre
o Supervising a team of volunteers in the Concession/Bar during events at The Centre
o Dealing directly with the public maintaining a Food Safe environment in the Concession/Bar
o Preparing food items, coffee and alcoholic beverages
o Monitoring the sales and consumption of alcoholic beverages
o Dealing with cash
• Act as an Ambassador for The Centre when in public
Location and Commitment:
• Chilliwack Cultural Centre
• Offsite events and meetings
• This position is part-time with need to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as required for events and meetings
Qualifications / Required Skills
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent organization, time management and communication skills, and the tact and diplomacy required to deal in a positive and helpful manner with user groups and other staff,
• The ability to anticipate needs, maintain records, and to respond calmly and effectively to emergency/crisis situations is essential
• Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
• Excellent judgment and ability to prioritize tasks while paying attention to detail
• Good computer skills, including competence with Microsoft Office
• Access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance
