Job Description / Duties

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Education, the Education Outreach Intern is dynamic, highly motivated, and creative individuals. They will assist in the instructional and administrative initiatives and will work closely with all members of the education team. The Education Outreach Intern will act as instructors as well as instructional trainees for the Arts Club’s education team. They will be provided opportunities to teach workshops as well as be mentored by guest instructors and trainees.

The Intern will play an essential role in creating lessons plans, study guides, and administrating educational programming to help increase patron engagement and support the organization’s mission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work to develop programming course content and lesson plans.
• Measure and assist with engagement for online programming on different platforms.
• Assist in the marketing and registration processes of education programming.
• Teach designated workshops and activities to youth and adults.
• Attend teachers training mentorship sessions with Arts Club staff and guest instructors.
• Research and write Study Guides for upcoming Arts Club productions.
• Work with the education team to help nurture and develop relationships with equity-deserving communities and organizations.

Qualifications / Required Skills

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
▪ A multi-tasker and problem-solver with the ability to prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
▪ Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines.
▪ Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
▪ Some experience with Microsoft Office, email marketing, and social media platforms.
▪ Working towards or completion of a degree in Education, English, or Fine and Performing Arts.
▪ A passion for the performing arts, especially in theatre, is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS:
As a recipient of the Canada Summer Jobs Internship Program, you must meet the following criteria:

• You are a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
• You are legally entitled to work in Canada according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
• You are between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.

Additional Information

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Salary: $18.50 per hour*
*Contingent on funding

Duration: 8 weeks, starting on June 24, 2024.

Employment Type: Internship Full-Time (35 hrs. per week)

Schedule details: 10 am – 5 pm (Monday to Friday).
