Job Description / Duties

Duties -- Artist Support includes:
-Oversees, approves, and signs artist contracts under the direction of the Director of Production with the appropriate unions (chiefly Canadian Actors’ Equity Association)
-Manages communication channels between the company and CAEA artists
-Plan and schedule auditions for each show of the season as well as general auditions
-Liaise with CAEA regarding creating, signing, and filing artist contracts and production checklists
-Serve as the primary contact for artist accommodations, transportation, health and wellbeing
-Be available evenings and weekends as necessary to provide support with emergencies or issues
-Oversees hiring and interviewing of auxiliary artists and workers (ie: child supervisors) in collaboration with the Director of Production
-Steward child performer requirements, including communication with parents and guardians, and liaison with Stage Management and Child Supervisors for productions

Duties -- Board Support includes:
-Working closely with the Executive Director, Artistic Director, and Board Chair, be responsible for the scheduling, organization, administration, and coordination of Board and Committee meetings including the generation and distribution of Board meeting packages and attending Board and Committee meetings to take minutes. Most of these meetings take place outside of typical 9am-5pm hours.

Duties -- General includes:
-This position requires upmost discretion and confidentiality
-Provide administration support as needed to Artistic Director and Executive Director
-Attend Globe Theatre performances and company events to provide general assistance to the team
-Though typical hours are Monday-Friday daytime hours, some evening and weekend work will be required

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications:
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Canadian theatre unions, especially the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, including its working regulations and contracting details
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines
• Passion for theatre
• Eye for detail
• Excellent time management
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work and be on-call evenings and weekends
• Class 5 drivers’ license
• Experience Microsoft suites

Additional Information

Compensation:
This role will be a full-time permanent position, averaging 35 hours per week with any overtime banked. It will require occasional weekend and evening work, as well as some weeks in excess of 35 hours per week throughout the season.

Wage: $45,000 per year
