Job Description / Duties

The AV systems designer will have to:

• assess client’s needs and project’s parameters
• determine design criteria
• conduct preliminary investigations
• design of the AV systems considering the baseline data (space, construction budget, time budget according to the proposal, etc.)
• provide innovative solutions
• determine the electrical, mechanical and structural loads related to the AV system design
• provide guidance and oversee the concepts’ execution by the technical draftsman
• ensure the integration of the AV system into the overall project
• provide cost estimate of AV system
• make plans and write technical specifications of AV system
• prepare equipment lists
• provide the information and documents required for project’s progress according to the prescribed schedule
• ensure the validity of plans
• answer requests of external professionals
• plan and oversee the bidding process
• plan and monitor the integration of infrastructures (power supply, structural elements, ducts)
• ensure follow-up during installation and start-up of equipment
• when required, participate in meetings and site visits
• remain aware of the latest innovations in his field

Qualifications / Required Skills

• College Degree in electronics or similar
• minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in design and integration of AV systems
• extensive knowledge of networking technology
• knowledge of entertainment industry standards
• mastery of Autocad software
• knowledge of MS Office suite
• written and oral proficiency in French and English

Salary: Between 70 000$ and 80 000$, according to experience
