CITT/ICTS is very happy to welcome four (4) new administrators to its Board of Directors.
Daniel Bennett | Director at Large, Toronto ON
Daniel Bennett is the Director of Production and Facilities for Canadian Stage. He has also worked as a Technical Director at the Grand Theatre in London Ontario, the US Tour of Why Not Theatre's Prince Hamlet and international tour of Mahabharata. In addition, he has worked as the Head of Festival Production and Operations for the SummerWorks Performance Festival and as a freelance Production Manager in Toronto.
Daniel is the Associate Artist at the National Theatre School in the Production Design and Technical Arts Program of which he is also a graduate. He dabbles in Producing with his company Curveball Creative and as a lighting and sound designer. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Toronto. When not in a theatre, he can be found on a spin bike.
Peter (Spike) Lyne | Director at Large, Ottawa ON
Peter (Spike) Lyne (he/him) is a Métis Production Manager, Technical Director, Lighting Designer and Educator. Highlights of his four-decade career include 25 years as PM, TD and Designer for the Just for Laughs Festival, PM for comedian Russell Peters, and designing lights for many theatres across Canada. He has coached/taught at McGill, Concordia and Windsor Universities, as well as the National Theatre School of Canada. He currently works as PM for Theatre at the National Arts Centre, as well as TD for their Indigenous Theatre Department.
Spike actively seeks ways to encourage more individuals (especially from under-represented communities), and fosters an inclusive environment, in the arts. He upholds that mentorship extends beyond its designated period: it marks the start of an enduring relationship and commitment. Spike believes that mentorship serves as both catalyst for the growth of up-and-coming creative minds, and an opportunity to open doors on their behalf.
Matt Lamarche | Director at Large, Ottawa ON
Matt Lamarche is a 30+ year veteran in the live performance industry working as a Live Audio Technician and Production Manager. Currently working as the Supervisor of Production Services at the City of Ottawa’s Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe. Matt’s experience includes many years of touring as an Audio Engineer with The Tragically Hip, Tom Cochrane and most recently the Sam Roberts Band.
In addition to touring Matt has worked on many audio/IT design and installation projects. Matt holds Certified Technology Specialist – CTS designation from AVIXA, IT Operations Specialist – CIOS from CompTIA as well as many other IT certifications. In his free time, Matt will still be found out on the road across Canada operating audio consoles and sharing knowledge with interested technicians.
Brianne Gwartz | Director at Large, Kitchener ON
