What's New > Suicide Prevention in Entertainment - Virtual Training
Suicide is a significant concern in the entertainment industry.
This series is designed to provide you with tools to enhance supportive skills so we can ensure that suicide is preventable.
Entertainment workers across the industry face long work hours and high-pressure deadlines, often causing them to sacrifice personal time and health to meet these demands. Additionally, job insecurity, fluctuating income, and the industry's unpredictability can amplify stress levels. Moreover, the transient nature of freelance work can lead to feelings of isolation and a lack of stable support networks. Many workers receive insufficient support and turn to unhealthy habits, such as drugs and alcohol to cope. Providing workers with tools to support one another can be an impactful way to reduce this rate and help promote necessary industry-wide change.
