Job Description / Duties
The Ottawa Little Theatre is a volunteer-based community theatre. The OLT stages nine productions each year over a 45 week on-stage schedule. The Technical Support function works closely with directors and designers on each of the season shows as required, to provide technical services, and to improve the technical quality of the productions.
The work is primarily in the evening hours weekly and weekends. “Core” hours include the periods 6:00pm to 10:30pm when shows are in rehearsal or productions are on-stage.
The Theatre will:
˗ contract this service through a service agreement
˗ contract subject to EI, CPP and income tax deductions at source, if required
˗ offer access to benefits plan with deductions made at source
˗ provide oversight through the president, or V-Ps facilities and capital, and artistic
Qualifications / Required Skills
• graduate from a recognized technical theatre program (college/university) with experience in all technical aspects: sound, lighting, projection and general staging
• minimum five(5)years of experience in the production/ technical services for mid to large theatres – including community theatres
• demonstrable stage manager experiences
• knowledge of applicable laws and safety regulations for performance venues
• experience in technical problem-solving
• strong leadership abilities
• computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• references (3) from artistic directors, technical directors or theatre managers

Salary: $25/hour - 5 hour daily call - evenings/weekend; 250 day season
