Job Description / Duties
• Operate the lighting, video projection, and audio consoles for events in the Muttart Theatre and Lobby.
• Assist with access, stage risers, piano use, accessible lectern use, soft goods, and other items available in the facility.
• Be informed on all inclusions, exclusions, safety practices, and allowable activities in the space.
• Be the EPL representative onsite for customer bookings and trouble shoot where required.
• Complete event reports and provide feedback to EPL on events where required.
Qualifications / Required Skills
• Minimum five years of industry experience as a technician in event settings (theatre, festival, academic, or other live experiences).
• Comfortable with operating technical consoles including but not limited to sound, lighting and video.
• Familiar with theatrical stage equipment and tools.
• Ability to assess customer and event and needs, and provide support in a safe and professional manner.
• Familiar with Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated superior interpersonal, communication, customer service, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to contribute positively and work effectively both in individual and team environments, and with customers of all ages and backgrounds
Additional Information
This is not a full time position, technicians will be recruited and onboarded as a group, and contracted separately as available for individual events. An MOU will be signed between EPL and the technician pool that outlines; timeline, methods of communication, pay rates and schedules, and any other important information.
Salary: $30-$35 an hour, minimum four hour calls

What we're looking for:
The Stanley A. Milner Library has been the heart of Edmonton’s downtown since 1967. Receiving over 1.2 million visits each year, the Milner Library closed for renovations in 2016 to better meet the growing and changing needs of the community. After re-opening to the public in September 2020, the renewed downtown library now boasts almost 30,000 square feet of community meeting space to support the increasing need for collaboration and accessible gathering places. One such space is the Muttart Theatre, located in the basement of the Stanley A. Milner Library. The Muttart Theatre a soft seat proscenium theatre with a maximum seating capacity of 249 and comes with an attached lobby, coat check, green room, and two dressing rooms. The space is a fully equipped production facility with projection, audio, and lighting systems in place.
