Job Description / Duties

Reporting to the Resident Cutter, the Stitcher will work within our Costume Department preparing costumes for our spring season. This is a contract position which will run from March 2 to May 5, 2022.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Professional-level sewing skills
• Knowledge of men’s and women’s period costume construction
• Experience with building and altering boned bodices, hoop skirts, and tailored jackets and trousers
• Must be able to follow the instructions and standards set out by the Resident Cutter
• Communicate and work cooperatively with the Costume team and follow the deadlines set out by the Costume Supervisor
• Ability to work with industrial sewing machines and steam irons
• Execute duties at all times in a manner consistent with safe working practices and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Perform and execute duties in accordance with department policies and procedures
• The hours generally fall into business hours, Monday to Friday.

Additional Information

As part of the interview process candidates may be asked to come in for a sewing test.
