Job Description / Duties

5.5 Week Contract
August 6 – September 15, 2024
$1100 / week + fuel expense offset (+ HST if applicable)
2 x 30 min concerts daily, across the GTA
Wednesday – Sunday

The first week of the engagement is for Box Stage prep. The incoming PC will have the opportunity to shadow the outgoing PC in the first week of the series, learning from their experiences over the last 4 years before taking the reins solo (this accounts for the 1/2 week).

As Production Coordinator, you would be responsible for the following:

Box Stage Prep-Week:
- Pick-up and installation of rental equipment from Long & McQuade.
- Support with a refresh of the Box Stage.

Concerts Series:
- Pickup, delivery, setup, operation, and tear down of Box Stage for each concert.
- Artist pick-up and drop-off may be required, depending on the Artist and concert location. You will be working with 5 Artists, one per week of the series.
- Ongoing maintenance of rented audio equipment and the Box Stage as required.
- Call key contact at Long Term Care Homes, Private Bookings, etc. on the day of the event, no later than 1 hour in advance of the concert to confirm details, particularly where there are inclement weather or Air Quality Index concerns.
- One drive by each location the morning of the concerts to ensure a smooth setup, as possible or necessary.
- Weekly Reports - template to be provided: Approx. attendance numbers/audience reception highlights, challenges that arose (technical, Box Stage, communication, etc.), and other key learnings.

At the end of the final week of the series, the Production Coordinator will:
- Remove and return rental equipment to Long & McQuade.
- Tidy and return the Box Stage to its storage location.

Note: The Production Coordinator may be required to perform related duties as assigned, within their scope of practice.

Qualifications / Required Skills

IMPORTANT: This gig requires access to a vehicle with a trailer hitch.

Bonus points if you're working with a car or SUV that is well below 6ft in height clearance due to parking garage limitations. The minimum requirement is access to a vehicle on which a hitch can be installed (please check and confirm the towing capacity of your vehicle).

Towing Capacity:
While we do not have a definitive measurement of the Box Stage's weight, with or without equipment, our best guess is that it is around 2000 lbs. It is a boxed-in 6' x 10' trailer that is largely empty, except for a few lightweight wooden built-ins for the speakers, a soapbox platform for the singers to stand on, and a pipe and drape proscenium. Our previous PC confirmed that it does not require anything beyond a Class III to tow (he has a Class III SUV).

Additional Information

Remuneration:

For this engagement, we are offering a fixed fee of $1100/week + HST (if applicable) x 5.5 weeks, plus an additional $100/week to cover fuel expenses. Throughout the engagement, we ask that you retain receipts and let us know if you are exceeding $100/week so we can adjust accordingly.

Salary: $1100 / week x 5.5 weeks + fuel expenses offset (see Additional Information section)
