Job Description / Duties

Duties:
Reporting to the Technical Director for all daily matters and the Director of Production for all human resources matters, this position works closely with the other members of the production and design teams to achieve each shows’ designs.

The successful candidate should:
-Have a base knowledge of the theatrical techniques employed in the carpentry shop, props shop, lighting department, and/or sound department.
-Be able to work under the department heads and technical director to achieve design goals
-Have a base knowledge of theatrical practices and the process of bringing a production to the stage.
-Be able to assist with set installs, technical installs, and shopping as directed by the Technical Director.
-Be able to effectively communicate and correspond with department heads, designers, directors and stage managers.
-Have strong time management skills and be able to work towards a deadline.
-Have the ability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and Stat holidays.
-Attend all staff and production meetings and be a member of the Health & Safety Committee if required.
-Adhere to all aspects of the Collective Agreement between Globe Theatre and I.A.T.S.E. Local 295.
-Possess a Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will provide support to Globe’s production departments, including assisting in the carpentry shop, lighting department, sound department, props department and wardrobe department; they should be able to demonstrate basic skills in more than one of these departments. The successful candidate will be skilled, knowledgeable, flexible, keen to learn, and a team player.

Additional Information

Compensation:
This position falls under the Collective Agreement between Globe Theatre and IATSE 295. Wage structures, overtime rates, minimum work week hours, and yearly wage increases, etc. are determined by the Collective Agreement. The qualified candidate will be required to join IATSE 295 if they are not already a member.

Wage for the 2024/2025 Season: $19.19/hr
Minimum hourly work week while engaged: 35 hrs per week
