Job Description / Duties
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for the operations department activities, including reviewing all quotes to manage and organize the equipment for jobs, booking labour, and keeping onsite equipment inventory organized and detailed. This individual will create event folders for each job for the crew, collect event information including creating technical floor plans and documentation, and assist and advise the sales/account manager with technical planning for larger events.
This individual will be working at one of the company’s properties in downtown Toronto and working alongside the EPiQVision and venue sales, operations, and events teams to plan and execute events. This individual must be self-motivated, open-minded, creative, detail-oriented, have a strong understanding and interest in technology, and be able to talk to clients on the phone, by email, and in person.
Job Duties
● Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times
● Maintain a cooperative and sensitive teamwork attitude when dealing with clients
● Connect with clients and planners to finalize the details of their audio-visual requirements for their event and event documentation
● Build strong internal relationships between the company and its clients
● Review sales quotes to confirm audio-visual details, venue, and event specific requests
● Create and update pull sheets, RPOs, LPOs, and TOs for events
● Create and organize event folders, technical floor plans, and documentation for crew
● Collect, organize, and distribute event agendas, run of shows, and content from clients
● Plan and organize logistics for off-site equipment including managing loading dock bookings
● Book and manage labour for all events
● Complete monthly archival of all AV recordings and event folders
● Conference regularly with warehouse staff regarding pull sheets, transfer orders, and logistics
● Maintain a strong system of organization and maintenance of in-house equipment
● Track and manage all broken equipment and ensure replacements are provided, as needed
● Train technicians on venue AV systems, troubleshooting, and storage
● Attend site visits as requested
● Attend venue BEO and onsite meetings as required
● Attend department and other company meetings as required
● Other duties as required by company
Qualifications / Required Skills
Requirements
● Post-secondary education in event production or event management
● Minimum 3 years experience in event management, production management, or in a similar position
● Communicating orally and written at a full professional proficiency level or greater in the English language
● Knowledge of lighting, audio, video, staging, and rigging systems
● Extensive experience creating production schedules
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
● Experience working with leading large crews
● Ability to manage multiple requests and rapidly changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
● Capable of dealing with problems quickly and effectively
● Outstanding organizational skills
● Flexible customer service oriented attitude with a commitment to supporting a variety of events
● Strong negotiation skills with clients and vendors
● Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
● Experience working in a hotel or events venue environment is an asset
● CAD experience and skills is an asset
● Knowledge and experience of Flex Rental Solutions is an asset
● Knowledge of current Safety Guidelines for the Live Performance Industry in Ontario is an asset
● Knowledge of current municipal, provincial, and federal workplace health & safety regulations is an asset
● Knowledge of current Fire and Building Codes is an asset
● Knowledge of current ESA, AODA, OHSA is an asset
● Valid driver's license and vehicle is an asset

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 / year, based on experience and company health benefits package.
