Job Description / Duties

The 24-week contract will start May 14, 2023 and conclude October 29, 2023.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to those normally associated with a similar position in other professional Canadian theatre companies.
The Lighting Technician will;
● work closely with the House Technician, and report directly to the Technical Director.
● be held responsible for the efficient and effective programming of lighting consoles throughout the technical cueing process, and the operation of lighting consoles and/or computers throughout the run of performances in a typical 8 performance week.
● actively participate in lighting equipment preparation, hanging, focusing of light and other dmx controlled equipment such as hazers, foggers, LED effects, and other load in, set up, and load out activities as assigned by the Technical Director.
● operate in full view of the audience and will be required to wear a company issued uniform and otherwise comport themselves as a representative of the organization.

Qualifications / Required Skills

● Background and training in lighting, normally acquired through 1 year of post educational experience
● Excellent problem-solving skills
● Working knowledge of Vectorworks, ETC Eos, Qlab, Google Office
● Installation and programming Ion lighting consoles.
● Strong team player
● Ability to lift 50 lbs.

● Possess Working at Heights an asset
● Valid G Driver’s License an asset

Salary: Salary: $800 per week plus 4% vacation pay, paid bi-weekly, based on 44 hours / week.
