Job Description / Duties
monstrARTity is currently seeking applicants for the freelance consultant contract position of Site Lead, with availability from Jul 4, 2022. This position will support #BollywoodMonster Mashup, the largest South Asian festival in Canada and rated the #1 festival at Mississauga Celebration Square.
Born in 2011, monstrARTity is an award-winning, Mississauga-based incorporated not-for-profit organization, filling systemic cultural and economic gaps in underserved diverse communities via festivals, interactive workshops for youth & seniors, artist mentorship and youth employment programs.
* This position is a combination of remote work, team conference calls and meetings in Mississauga. Meetings are currently being conducted virtually due to COVID-19. This will be modified according to provincial and Peel Public Health guidelines.*
Duties
Pre-production:
- Supporting the Operations Lead in updating the site map, placing vendors & sponsors with consideration for electrical needs, water needs and visibility
- Supporting development of load-in and load-out schedule for vendors, sponsors and collaborators coming on site
- Designing and managing vendor and collaborator rentals sign-in/sign-out process
Production:
- Communicating load-in, load-out and scheduling information to marketplace, display and food vendors
- Ensuring vendors submit proper permits and Region of Peel Health forms as per festival deadlines
- Managing on-site vendor requests (with support from venue’s electrician and facilities coordinator)
Post-production
- Supporting reconciliation of site operations budget and organization's inventory
- Documentation of site-, schedule- and vendor-related operations processes

- Term: Jul 4 - Aug 31, 2022. Opportunity for extension can be considered
- Compensation: $1,000-$2,000/month, negotiated based on experience and time commitment
- Must be able to make mandatory weekly team calls (Tuesdays), team meetings in Mississauga and stakeholder meetings in the Greater Toronto Area as required*
- *Meetings are currently being conducted virtually due to COVID-19. This will be modified according to provincial and Peel Public Health guidelines
- Must have access to own laptop and phone
