Job Description / Duties
• Providing kit for sewing and cutting.
• Cutting, assembling, and altering costumes for all theatre productions under the guidance of the Head of Wardrobe and designer’s approval.
• Supervising and delegating work to stitchers and part-time staff working in the wardrobe department to ensure work is completed properly and on schedule.
• Working in a cooperative and efficient manner.
• Monitoring stock and informing the Head of Wardrobe of required materials.
• May be responsible for the handling and repairing of wardrobe during the run of shows, which may include show laundry.
• Assisting in the cleanliness of the wardrobe room.
• Other related duties may be assigned as required.
Qualifications / Required Skills
• Strong time management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Knowledge and expertise in costume techniques and materials.
• Ability to work independently and initiate tasks.
• Proven ability to direct and motivate others.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Cutter.
• Previous work experience as a First Hand would be considered an asset.
Additional Information
TERM: Contract position dates of February 24 – August 15, 2025. Typically 40 hours/week.
This position is based in-person and onsite at the Hamilton Family theatre Cambridge (46 Grand Ave. S., Cambridge).
Due to the nature of the live theatre industry, evening and weekend work may be required.
