Job Description / Duties

• Support the Technical Director with the onsite management of daily activities of the Production Department.
• Work with the Technical Director throughout the production process – including but not limited to the design evaluation, costing, planning, and execution of YPT productions.
• Assist with providing Computer Assisted Design and Drafting (CADD) services.
• Support the co-ordination and supervision of a successful load in/out, maintenance, and technical periods of YPT produced shows.
• Occasionally lead the load in/out, run, maintenance, and other technical periods of YPT presented shows.
• Participate in the coordination of facility maintenance with the Technical Director and Operations department.
• Advances the technical needs and supervises select events throughout the summer rental season.
• Assist with pick-ups and drop-offs for YPT Productions.
• Adhere to and enforce YPT’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with and participate in YPT Education & Participation programs.
• Other duties as assigned by the Technical Director.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Graduate of a recognized theatre program with demonstrable experience in Technical Direction.
• Patient and thrives in an educational environment.
• Broad working knowledge of all production elements applicable to a producing theatre.
• Familiar/experience with network systems is an asset.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Vectorworks.
• Experience with crew management, show costing, budget tracking, and material purchasing.
• Knowledge of Ontario’s Health and Safety statutes, regulations, and practices.
• A Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s license (or equivalent).
• Specific experience in IATSE working environments is an asset.
• Valid Working at Heights certificate is an asset.

Salary: $49,000-$51,000
