Job Description / Duties
Summary
The Field Engineer is responsible for onsite commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and servicing of electronics communications equipment. The goal is to service systems in the most efficient and effective manner to assure minimum down time and maximum performance. All work is to meet the highest quality standards set forth by Branch Audiovisual, while assuring a professional and safe working environment. The Field Engineer is responsible for communicating system performance to the customer and updating Branch AV's service ticket system.
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for reading and interpreting functional wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
2. Testing of AV equipment, cabling and preparing site for program upload
3. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AV equipment, AV network issue and control
4. Field installation & configuration of control programs (code uploads)
5. Field configuration of network devices
6. Configure and test videoconferencing (codecs) and teleconferencing systems (VOIP & POTS)
7. Able to terminate field connectors such as RJ45, BNC, speakON, DB9, XLR, etc
8. Preventative maintenance service visits to maintain customer's AV systems
9. Troubleshoot and repair electronic components as required
10. Updates to schematics for as built drawings
11. Meet all installation deadlines as set by the Project Manager or Service Dispatcher
12. Assists with client training on AV system as required
13. Responsible for accurate tracking on time sheets & inventory
14. Ability to update ticketing system in a timely and concise manner
15. Full compliance with company's and customer's safety program
16. Other duties as required or assigned by company management/supervisor
Accountability/Reporting
The Field Engineer will report to the Director of Integration Services. Secondary accountability will be to the Project Manager / Service dispatcher, other management team members, employees, and customers of the company.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Qualifications
The Field Engineer shall possess a high school diploma or equivalent. AV industry experience is required. Working experience with network configuration for AV devices, loading of Crestron and AMX code and programming of audio DSP devices is desired. AVIXA CTS certification is preferred. Experience with Crestron, AMX and Extron products is preferred. Valid drivers license and personal vehicle required.
Must have or be able to qualify for Government Security clearance.
Additional Information
Travel
Some out-of-town travel required. Travel to client’s sites is required.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, flexible to work after hours and weekends when required.

Salary: $30-$33/Hour depending on experience can vary
