Educational Session

A presentation on different methods of integrating light, sensors and electronics into costumes. The presentation will look at a broad range of applications and include a suggestion of the design pipeline for creating costumes with electronics imbedded in them.

After attending this presentation, attendees will be able to:

- Identify different ways of incorporating electronics into costumes or wearables
- Know what is current in the art form and in research
- Have ideas on where to pursue research in the topic
- Understand the requirements and planning needed for incorporating electronics into costume

Presenter: April Viczko

April is a performance designer in theatre, dance, and dance on film. She is a full member and past president of Associated Designers of Canada. She was the project lead for World Stage Design 2022 in Calgary. April is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for OISTAT. On July first she was appointed to her second Chair of Drama at a Canadian U15 University, this time to the University of Alberta.
