Massey Hall

First opened in 1894, Massey Hall is one of Toronto’s oldest and finest performance theatres.

The tour will cover the revitalized and newly re-opened Massey Hall and the various venues inside the Allied Music Centre, including TD Music Hall as well as an early peek at a yet to be opened 100 seat theatre and a Dolby ATMOS recording facility.

Meeting point: Participants will meet at the Massey Hall STAGE DOOR - Door is beside the loading dock, with a sign above it that says Allied Music Centre.

Take note: There is a registration limit of 30 participants.

The tour will be led by Doug McKendrick and Brian Lidster

Doug Mckendrick, VP of Production and Technology for Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall has oversite over the Production, Event and IT departments and has played a key role in the design and implementation of the Production and building Technology systems for the Massey Hall Revitalization.  Prior to Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall, Doug spent 15+ years as a touring sound engineer and tour manager.

Brian Lidster, Director of Building Operations, joined the organization in November of 2021 – just in time for the reopening of the newly renovated Massey Hall. Brian and his team currently oversee the mechanical operation and maintenance of both Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall and assist with projects as they arise. Previously, Brian was apart of the grand opening teams of Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada (2013) and the CN Tower’s EdgeWalk (2011) where he oversaw the daily operation of both.
