Remote Collaboration between Designers & Production
Friday, June 19 | 1 pm – 3 pm EST - FREE
Join moderator Rick Banville and a panel of Designers, Production Managers, and Technical Directors in a discussion about working remotely. Our panel will identify strategies and tools that have worked for them in the past, and ones that haven’t. Thinking of our present situation, we’ll talk about what public health restrictions mean for designer-production department collaboration across disciplines. How do you select fabric/give notes on a finish/perform a fitting/troubleshoot design/implementation issues when you can’t get close to each other? Looking forward, we’ll talk about how we’d like to work in the future, and what we collectively want to see change.
Finally, we’ll also talk about the reality of schedules and workloads from both the designer and TD/PM perspective. We rely on each other so much for getting a show from concept to reality, and this is an opportunity to learn about what we really need from each other, and brainstorm ways to make the process smoother for everyone.
