CITT Alberta's Safe Stages sub-committee is revising Safe Stages, a non-exhaustive guide towards safe work practices in backstage contexts. This time, we'd like to expand the scope to be a national reference manual. What topics in safety and good work practice are currently relevant to the Canadian theatre / live entertainment industry? On what topics would guidance be helpful to venues/communities across the country? What successful solutions or practices are you using? We'll host a conversation on these topics, as well as: risk assessment strategies, mental health and wellness in the workplace, span of day and work-life balance, standards across provinces, safe light and noise levels, and many more.

After attending this presentation, attendees will have bright new ideas and safety-related solutions offered by their colleagues across the country. Once the Safe Stages book is revised and reissued in several months or years, they'll have access to a much-improved safety resource. Perhaps they'll even have contributed to the much-improved safety resource!
