The Ins and Outs of an RFP

Educational Session

This session will examine the components of a Request for Proposals (RFP) including why they are necessary to get you the best project outcome possible. A good RFP includes the Terms of Reference (Scope of Services, Schedule and Budget), Submission Requirements (Technical and Cost Proposal, Format Guidelines, and Closing Date/Location/Time), Evaluation Criteria (Mandatory Requirements, Consultant Qualifications, Key Personnel Qualifications, plus Approach and Methodology), and the Selection Process (Evaluation and Scoring of Technical vs Price, Announcing the Successful Proponent, and debriefs). In addition to this RFP framework, we’ll examine ways to customize the RFP to your specific needs and funding opportunities, how to set up your board or steering committee for success, and what to look for if you need to bring on an outside consultant to help manage the process (you probably do).

After attending this presentation, attendees will be able to write a Request for Proposals that is appropriate to their organization.
