An interactive workshop where participants will analyze the dynamics of power and privilege in their personal and professional lives.

About this Event

In this interactive session, participants will analyze the dynamics of power and privilege in their personal and professional lives. Through instruction, activities and examples, they will be introduced to the four levels of oppression in society and will be able to recognize how power manifests in each level. With a focus on personal narrative and the self, participants will be led through activities to analyze their social identities. Through the lens of intersectionality, we will examine systems and structures of power and how they are connecting to our identity.

Participants will examine the role of power dynamics in the workplace and what policies, procedures or programs could be implemented to shift the work culture. Through a “calling-in” approach, participants will be able to understand the way in which power and privilege can be leveraged to create change in arts-based organizations.
